Title: Senior Property Accountant
Location: Greenwich, CT
Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for an assigned portfolio of properties, including preparation of financial statements
- Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules
- Produce financial reporting packages for joint venture partners, lenders, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with SEC reporting including preparation of footnotes and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with auditors and prepare workpapers to support audits
- Analyze and track property-level budgets, forecasts, and variances
- Support acquisition and disposition activity, including due diligence and integration of new assets
- Review and mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable)
- Partner cross-functionally with asset management and operations teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–6 years of relevant experience (public accounting real estate or direct REIT/property accounting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Experience with property accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, etc.) is highly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High visibility role within a growing REIT platform
- Exposure to complex transactions, joint ventures, and acquisitions
