Dental Assistant on Saturdays

Job Overview
This is a part-time position. We are looking for a dental assistant who is available to work on Saturdays.

Duties

• Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Manage patient records using Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation during patient visits to support overall health assessments
• Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care, fostering a positive experience

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols
• Proficiency in Open Dental; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices for accurate documentation
• Experience with pediatric dentistry, including pediatric-specific procedures and communication techniques
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and medical imaging devices safely and effectively
• Knowledge of dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting, aseptic technique, taking vital signs, and maintaining sterile environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work efficiently in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
