Role Description - Care Providers Needed - Smiles for Special Needs
Opportunities are available for part-time, full-time, on-site Care Providers for our social enterprise partner, Smiles for Special Needs, LLC.
Flexible scheduling - This position offers flexible hours providing opportunities for recent high school graduates (summer employment/school break employment); college students needing flexible hours; people seeking part-time or full-time work as a care provider.
Job Summary - Care Providers will work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting their daily activities. Responsibilities include offering personalized care, engaging in enrichment activities, and creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
Ideal Candidates: This role is ideal for people with an interest in social work, healthcare, therapy and special education.
Special note - The location is in Mesa at 1619 E. Main Street. The facility is within walking distance to the light rail hub at Gilbert Rd and Main Street in Mesa, AZ. Applicants may opt to use the light rail to get to the facility.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older to apply
- Pass a Criminal History Background Check
- Valid ID to prove you can work in the USA
- Interest in providing individualized support for people with mild/moderate disabilities of all ages
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Empathy, patience, and an understanding of working with individuals with varying abilities
- Certifications in caregiving or first aid are a plus but not required - training for CPR, first aid, Article 9 and more will be provided
- Flexibility and adaptability to assist in various activities and tasks
