Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operations of the dental clinic, including scheduling, patient flow, and staff coordination
- Oversee financial management tasks such as budgeting, billing, coding, and insurance claims processing using systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix
- Supervise administrative staff, providing leadership in human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of medical records and patient information
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize clinic workflows, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety in accordance with JCAHO guidelines and acute care protocols
- Monitor utilization management, managed care contracts, and billing processes to maximize revenue streams
- Implement policies for medical administrative support, electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Epic, and other EMR/EHR platforms to streamline documentation and recordkeeping
Skills
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare management with strong supervisory skills
- Expertise in fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control strategies
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Open Dental; is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations
- Strong leadership abilities in managing teams within a busy clinical environment; experience supervising medical administrative support staff is essential
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Background in dental office experience including billing, , managed care contracting, and hospital or clinic experience preferred
