Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients.
- Conduct thorough dental examinations and assessments of patients to diagnose oral health issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and discuss them with patients and their parents or guardians.
- Administer preventative dental services, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and education on proper oral hygiene.
- Perform restorative dental procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions for pediatric patients when necessary.
- Implement effective behavior management techniques to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for young patients.
- Educate patients and their families on proper oral care practices and techniques.
- Provide emergency dental care and treatment for pediatric patients as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other dental specialists and healthcare professionals within the practice to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment notes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including infection control protocols and HIPAA guidelines.
- Stay current with the latest developments in pediatric dentistry through ongoing education and training.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment to help children feel at ease during their dental visits.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited dental school.
- Completion of an accredited pediatric dentistry residency program.
- Active Pennsylvania dental license and pediatric dentistry specialty license.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion and patience when working with children.
