Job description:
Overview: We are seeking an experienced , full -time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our growing practice across the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY region. The position is a critical component of our patient care team. Focusing on providing exceptional preventive and therapeutic services to both our ortho, general, and pediatric patient base.
This is a one-day-per-week position with no evening or weekend hours requires, offering a fantastic work-life balance . Applicants must be experienced and willing to travel between our three office locations within the Hudson Valley area.
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Perform comprehensive prophylactic care, including taking and reviewing medical histories, performing oral cancer screenings, and evaluating periodontal status.
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies
