Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth office workflow. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical software systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. The Dental Office Receptionist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining accurate records and supporting clinical staff.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using EMR systems
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient appointments, and handle rescheduling as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with proper phone etiquette
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) such as eClinicalWorks or other healthcare software
- Support clinical staff with documentation review, care plans, and medical administrative support tasks
- Ensure office supplies are stocked and the front desk area remains organized and professional
Qualifications
- High School of equivalent
- Experience with health information management and medical records documentation review
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing)
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are a plus
- Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in clerical tasks such as filing and data entry
