What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Shift Supervisor position at SMI Security?
Job Summary
- Protect people, property, and the facility at all times
- Follow post orders, site rules, and company policies
- Patrol the property on foot or by vehicle
- Watch cameras and alarms and report anything unusual
- Report safety issues and incidents clearly (spoken and written)
- Use assigned equipment and weapons properly
- Be professional, alert, and respectful with employees, guests, and visitors
- Answer questions, greet people, and assist as needed
- Stay licensed and qualified according to state and local laws
Basic Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be flexible in schedule (open to work 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift)
- Able to stay calm in emergencies
- Must be able to pass the MTSA class (to get port ID)
- Good communication skills (speaking and writing)
- Basic computer skills
- Honest, reliable, and able to follow procedures
Physical & Work Requirements
- Stand, walk, sit, and patrol for long periods
- Lift up to 40 lbs if needed
- Use hands, eyes, and hearing constantly
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather
- Handle stress and multitask in busy situations
- Speak, read, and write English clearly
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32.0 per week
