About The Role:

As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring construction projects, from local eateries to major sports venues, are built with quality and safety at the forefront. Whether you're new to the field or bring years of expertise, you'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to advance. Seasoned professionals can take on leadership roles, guiding projects and mentoring colleagues.

• Field & Lab Testing: Performing field and laboratory testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: Working closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure all work meets specifications and safety guidelines.

Field Work, Schedule & Travel

This position is primarily based outdoors on active construction sites. Work schedules may vary based on project needs and weather conditions and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and overtime opportunities paid at time-and-a-half. Travel is required, with per diem, to support our KY Locke project in Paducah, KY.

Using company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), you should be comfortable:

• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for extended periods, potentially up to 12 hours per day
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50 pounds of equipment and materials
• Safely maneuvering field equipment around active construction sites

About You:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels
  • Associate Technician/Technician I: 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Technician II: 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent with associate degree
  • Technician III: 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent with associate degree
  • Technician IV: 5 years of relevant experience; prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
• Active Industry certifications such as: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I, strongly preferred; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector, Reinforced Concrete and Masonry
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic math proficiency, including understanding of measurements and units of weight
• The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and interest in occasional travel
• You have a valid U.S. driver's license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) valid for driving in the United States, with an acceptable driving record
• You can safely operate a company-assigned vehicle, including trucks and SUVs
• You are willing to complete a background check, driving record check, and drug screen upon offer of employment

Compensation and technician level will be based on experience and industry certifications.
