POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the Safety, Quality, and Productivity of all production employees in and assigned to that shop or area per designated shift. They are responsible to ensure all Safety matters, Production schedules, and company policies and communications are implemented and followed as effectively as possible and in a timely manner. The Production Supervisor is also responsible to plan and verify that the proper procedures for fabrication, operation of company equipment, the Training/Mentoring of department subordinates, and processing of product materials are completed within all expectations, quality parameters and qualifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Verify all departmental Safety Guidelines, Procedures, and PPE requirements are met and in use at all times.
• Recognize and addresses safety hazards in all process applications.
• Prepared to administer Personnel Incident(s)/Accident(s), and in-house First Aid procedures when needed.
• Investigate, document, and where applicable enforce disciplinary actions to incidents which are classified as violations of SME company policies, procedures, and Safety rules.
• Seek and provide managerial consultation and support when formally greeting and/or dismissing employees.
• Attend meetings and enable communications between Management, leads, and employees.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment.
• Oversee the production process following the outlined production schedule.
• Ensure efficiency and production performance goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Supervise, train, mentor, or assign mentors to all new employees and continually coach existing employees.
• Document and report project progress and/or deviations. Demonstrate the ability to direct and supervise employees through the production process.
• Identify potential machinery issues within fabrication and ensure proper procedures are followed for optimal performance.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned by SME Management

• Directly supervises day shift/night shift production employees.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Prefer Highschool Diploma/GED, or equivalent additional training, Previous Supervisory and/or 5 years of relative department process experience.
• Must be Self-Motivated, independent, and conduct all company matters in a professional and ethical manner on or off company property.
• Must communicate verbally and in writing to subordinates, co-workers, Inspectors, Maintenance personnel, and upper Management.
• Must be Punctual, Dependable, Adaptable, and mature enough to safely lead, advise, and manage a team of individual employees to the successful completion of each project.
• Knowledgeable of OSHA Standards, manufacturing practices, and applicable codes (AISC, AWS, ASTM, IBC, etc.)
• Must be able to plan and set priorities, identify and address issues, and meet deadlines keeping project objectives within allotted budget hours.
• Strong technical skills per department specialty and a clear understanding of Shop and/or Engineered plans, drawings, and standards where applicable.
