POSITION SUMMARY:

The Machine Operator is responsible for learning the performance of assigned machinery to ensure efficient and continuous production. This includes learning optimal machine speed, load settings, and other operational parameters to meet production targets. Learning machine's mechanical and operating systems, as well as its role within SME’s broader manufacturing process is essential. The operator is accountable for the safe operation of the equipment and for maintaining the quality standards of the products produced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate a minimum of at least 1 machine, including robotic systems.

Possess the capability to learn program machinery for specific production tasks.

Learning to monitor finished products to verify that both quality and quantity meet SME production standards.

Learn how to accurately complete and maintain required logs and documentation related to production, maintenance, and quality control.

Conduct basic maintenance tasks, including lubrication and routine checks, to ensure machinery remains in good working condition.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall production and operational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform each essential duty daily.

· Being willing to learn or gain experience with programming and operating computer-driven machinery is preferred.

· Must demonstrate dependability, reliability, and the maturity required to safely and responsibly operate industrial equipment.

· Possesses strong technical skills and the ability to operate both mechanical and electronically controlled machines.

· Understands the functional mechanisms of the tools and equipment under their care.

· Capable of clearly communicating equipment issues, production metrics, and quality concerns to relevant personnel.

· Exhibits strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate production records, assess product quality, and detect subtle deviations in output.

· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co-workers, maintenance teams, supervisors, and quality inspectors.

· Performs additional duties assigned in support of operational goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis in conjunction with the official Company doctor and clinic.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs. regularly.

· Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.

· Physically fit to work in an industrial environment and tolerate exposure to varying physical conditions.

· Must be able to work extended hours when necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Industrial warehouse and manufacturing environment with heavy machinery, and overhead cranes.

· Use of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear is required.

· Interaction with team members, leads, and supervisors is frequent and necessary.
