What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Massage Therapist position at SMCA Wellness?
Position Overview
The Licensed Massage Therapist will provide individualized therapeutic massage treatments based on each client's needs, goals, and treatment plan. We are looking for a therapist who can meet the client where they are and adjust their approach accordingly, rather than providing the same massage to every client.
Massage sessions may incorporate relaxation techniques, therapeutic work, stretching, focused muscle work, and other modalities within the therapist's training and scope of practice.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with an established weekly schedule:
- Monday evenings
- Wednesday evenings
- Tuesday daytime hours
- One Saturday per month
Specific hours and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
The Licensed Massage Therapist will:
- Provide professional, individualized massage therapy sessions
- Assess client needs and adjust treatments appropriately
- Help clients address muscular tension, discomfort, stress, mobility, and relaxation goals
- Maintain accurate and appropriate client documentation
- Follow Pennsylvania massage therapy standards, sanitation requirements, and professional boundaries
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming treatment environment
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and the SMCA Wellness team
- Work collaboratively within a holistic and integrative wellness environment
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a current Pennsylvania Massage Therapy License and appropriate professional liability coverage.
The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, client-centered, comfortable working independently, and interested in being part of a collaborative wellness practice.
Experience with therapeutic, deep tissue, myofascial, sports, stretching, or other bodywork techniques is welcomed but not required.
Compensation & Employment
This is a W2 employee position, not an independent contractor position.
Compensation is $30–$35 per completed massage session, based on experience and qualifications.
