PURPOSE
This role is to provide thermo-product claims support within the organization while performing assigned tasks to support Company Goals. Much of the Technician's time will be spent producing output under the direction of an Engineer or Management in the form of tasks such as: crating/uncrating, processing claims and other duties as requested.

Essential Duties
- Interpret internal and external customer requirements to meet desired outputs.
- Communicate technical knowledge, specification, and direction to internal and external customers.
- Processing claims for internal and external customers. Including ordering parts, transfer orders, submitting Production Rework Order Requests, update claims status, and shipping.
- Picking parts for claims and customer orders, putting parts away.
- Crate and uncrate claims and incoming parts orders.
- Follow NFPA70E Electrical safety requirements
- Operate PIT (Power Industrial Truck) Complete training and certification within the first 6 months on the job.
- Perform periodic audits of claims on hand.
- Complete assigned tasks using predefined departmental processes.
- Hands on technical support for both internal and external customers.
- Participate on a team to accomplish given tasks or processes.
- Travel mainly for the purpose of training or customer support. (minimal)
- All other duties as assigned.
- Record daily activities.
- Capacity to work indoors in an office, laboratory, and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
- Capability to lift objects or equipment weighing up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Physical aptitude to use basic hand tools in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to travel and/or attend meetings domestic and internationally outside of normal business hours.
- High-School diploma, or equivalent experience as determined by management utilizing internal SMC career development criteria.
- Novice level to interpret customer requirements to meet desired output.
- Ability to operate PIT (Power Industrial Truck) Complete training and certification within the first 6 months on the job.
- Novice in navigating corporate system software to meet the desired output for internal and external customers.
- Novice understanding of NFPA70E Electrical safety.
- Novice at efficient use of time to effectively plan and execute multiple duties.
- Competent ability to communicate utilizing corporate office software.
- Novice ability to take verbal and/or written direction on tasks, training, or departmental / company policies.
- Novice ability to communicate, in English, with internal and external customers tactfully and professionally.
