Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer this position will lead and coordinate cross-functional projects aimed at developing, improving, and scaling production processes for high-quality, regulatory-compliant medical devices. This position will manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, while collaborating with Quality Assurance, Tooling, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful project completion. Responsibilities include risk management, process validation, customer communication, and quoting. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with project management expertise and a deep understanding of medical device lifecycle requirements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers on tooling/equipment design and repair
- Lead cross function internal project management team, involved from project conception, equipment specifications, quotations, through full scope of project management
- Develop and manage programs that ensure safe practices, adhering to company safety policies while meeting customer contracts and company internal profitability expectation
- Meet the needs of external and internal customers related to the program and the manufacturing team’s need for success
- Calculate cost(s) for quoting all project needs. Center point for all customer cost conversations.
- Helps grow existing accounts by fostering professional working relationships with team while supporting sales team as a technical resource during soliciting of new business.
- Create and manage project timelines.
- Engage in design and development of parts and manufacturing processes from conceptual stages through production.
- Collaborate with the Tooling Engineers who are responsible for the tooling deliverables; mold fabrication and implementation to successful production of customer’s part.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers who are responsible for part removal and work cell layouts.
- Prioritize and manage projects and tasks necessary to deliver to the needs of the customer(s).
- Efficiently utilize available resources and engineering tools.
- Leverage the available engineering resources and software to understand our manufacturing processes and data so that accurate decisions can be made.
- Assist with generating and executing IQ, OQ, PQ validation protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or equivalent years of experience.
- Self-motivated to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating and solving problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and solid modeling preferred but not required
Desirable Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in project management or related engineering discipline preferred.
- Previous experience in an injection molding environment is preferred but not required.
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
- Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
- Travel by air or car occasionally
- This position works in a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
- May involve occasional navigation of stairs or elevators.
- Clearly speaking for phone calls, video meetings, or face-to-face discussions.
- Ability to hear and/or see alarms or notifications in the environment.
