PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for meeting organizational goals related to delivery performance, operational efficiency, and inventory performance. This role will work closely with other departments to identify the inventory needs of the company’s very large and diverse product offering as well as plan, execute and monitor the company’s inventory purchases. Inventory decisions will be driven by historical sales trends, factory component usage, customer forecasts, new product planning, and product obsolescence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Manage and oversee the system and process improvements within the supply chain
Use appropriate inventory management tools and processes to make inventory decisions
Support daily inventory control for a broad product line of control and industrial automation products manufactured domestically in the U.S. and at several global production facilities
Master key forecasting tools and procedures to better prepare for future customer needs and meet delivery request dates.
Support inventory levels and product demands to determine to reorder levels and safety stock levels that will improve product availability; Focus on minimizing operational costs and optimizing inventory levels
Minimize supply chain costs through frequent monitoring of lot size purchases and lot size selling to the company’s network of industrial distributors
Support new product planning, new product introductions, and make-vs-buy decisions throughout the product life cycle.
Support end-of-life inventory planning to minimize slow-moving inventory
Work closely and effectively with other key functional areas in the company, including production scheduling, product management, purchasing, and warehouse; Enable positive communication between multiple functions in the company as well as our network of distributors and large customers
Take pride and ownership of the company’s supply chain and inventory performance
Understand and support supply chain performance metrics
Cross-train on key Supply Chain processes as defined and outlined in department work instructions
Understand and execute advanced workflow tasks on established SMC systems
Identify and propose countermeasures for slow-moving inventory
Communicate with the salesforce and other departments to secure the integrity of inventory-related processes
Any other Supply Chain or inventory-related tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for long periods
International travel may be required. 10% or less of time is travel
Fast-paced office environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field is required
The ability to work well in a team environment is required
Detail-oriented work is required
Ability to effectively communicate
Advanced computer and analytical skills preferred
Fluent in the use of Microsoft Excel
Familiar with working with an ERP, MRP, or SAP
5 years of Supply Chain related experience
Previous experience with inventory management preferred
