Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans, and supporting the bidding process to help secure new projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and pricing history
- Assist in preparing and submitting competitive bids and proposals
Qualifications
- Experience in construction estimating (commercial or residential preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
