Smashing Dishes is seeking a results-driven, strategic Director of Sales to lead revenue growth, elevate our market position, and drive high-value event business across corporate, social, and venue partnership channels. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where you can directly impact growth, shape the sales organization, and build something that scales.
This is not a maintenance role — it is a leadership position for someone who understands how to build pipeline, close business, and create structure in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. You will take ownership of the full sales function, leading a team responsible for delivering premium catering experiences across some of the most distinctive venues and clients in the market. This role requires a leader who can operate at both a strategic and execution level — someone who can drive revenue while building systems, discipline, and accountability within the sales organization.
Compensation: $85,000 per year

Founded in 2009, Smashing Dishes/ Tony Caters is a flourishing and highly respected off-site catering company that produces extraordinary events and exceptional food service across the Bay Area. We also have two additional cafes located inside the Tech Interactive Museum in downtown San Jose and at the Winchester Mystery House.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSABILITES
What You Will Own
- Revenue growth and achievement of sales targets
- Full pipeline visibility, forecasting, and deal management
- Development and leadership of a high-performing sales team
- Conversion strategy and proposal effectiveness
- Corporate client development and high-value event acquisition
- Venue partnerships and strategic business relationships

- Clear ownership of reporting and forecasting within the sales team

Who You Are
- A proven sales leader in catering, hospitality, or events
- Experienced in managing high-value corporate and social event sales
- Comfortable owning both strategy and execution
- Highly organized with strong pipeline and forecasting discipline
- Confident in client-facing environments and closing complex deals
- Focused on results, with a strong sense of accountability
REQUIEREMENTS
- Friendly and upbeat attitude is a must!
- 3 years of catering/event sales experience
- TPP (Total Party Planner) preferred but not required experience
- Experience with Google suite
- Strong expertise in sales and sales operations, with a proven ability to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Experience in team management and leadership with a focus on motivating and mentoring sales professionals
- Proficiency in customer service, including the ability to build strong, lasting client relationships
- Demonstrated success in business development and identifying new growth opportunities
- Responsible, accountable and task-oriented
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation
