Regional Business Development Manager

Smash My Trash NW Anaheim
Fullerton, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/4/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/3/2026

Who We Are

Smash My Trash helps industrial and commercial customers dramatically cut their waste hauling costs while reducing their environmental footprint. Our mobile compaction service safely compacts commercial waste in containers, often reducing haul volumes by 70% and creating real savings and measurable emissions reduction for our customers.

We are in growth mode and building a small, high-performing team where the right person can quickly take on more ownership, lead key initiatives, and become a core builder of the business.

The Opportunity

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk sales role. You will own a territory, drive new business, and deepen relationships with decision-makers across manufacturing, distribution, construction, and other industrial sectors.

We are looking for someone who wants to:

  • Run their territory like a business: pipeline, activities, results.
  • Take full ownership of processes and customer relationships, not just "make calls."
  • Grow into broader responsibility as we scale and add additional territories and team members.

If you are ambitious, competitive, and want a path where your performance directly creates new opportunities, this role is designed for you.

What You Will Do

  • Hunt for new business every week: prospect, cold call (in person and by phone), set meetings, and run on-site demos with our Smash My Trash trucks.
  • Consistently execute door-to-door outreach and structured follow up (calls, emails, visits) to move prospects through the pipeline, even when the work feels repetitive.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation through proposal, follow-up, and contract signing.
  • Develop a "route-like" strategy to maximize face time with targeted industrial and commercial accounts in your territory.
  • Own key customer relationships, ensuring long-term satisfaction and retention.
  • Use a value-based, consultative approach to show prospects how our service cuts costs and supports their sustainability goals.
  • Log and manage activity in our CRM, using it to plan your week and track results.
  • Bring market insights back to ownership; collaborate on refining messaging, territory plans, and sales tools.

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of successful outside B2B sales experience (industrial, service-based, or similar).
  • Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and close recurring service contracts.
  • Strong communication skills: you're comfortable talking to owners, GMs, and operations leaders on-site and over the phone.
  • High personal ownership: you like building systems and processes that make you (and the business) more effective.
  • Flexible and adaptable: you can pivot between knocking on doors, running demos, updating CRM, and attending local events.
  • Detail oriented and organized: you manage your calendar, pipeline, and follow-ups without hand-holding.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle, and comfort working in and around industrial/warehouse environments.

Degree is a plus, but a strong track record, mindset, and hustle matter more to us than the exact resume.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) plus performance-based commission on new and recurring business.
  • Realistic first-year total earnings target in the mid to high five figures, with upside as you build your book of business.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Hands-on training and direct access to ownership for coaching and strategic input.

Who Thrives Here

  • You are competitive and goal-driven; you like to see your numbers climb and your territory grow.
  • You enjoy being out in the field, meeting people, and building relationships face-to-face.
  • You want more than "just a sales job" and are excited by the idea of growing with a scaling business and taking on bigger challenges over time.
  • You are comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial environment where your ideas are heard and your results are visible.

How to Apply

  • If this sounds like the next step you've been looking for, send your resume and a brief note on your most meaningful B2B sales win (what you did and why you're proud of it).
