Title: Should Costing Engineer
Location San Jose, CA
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with 7 to 10 years of experience in Automotive TOH Tractor and Manufacturing industry as a should costing engineer
- Working exposure to manufacturing processes of various engineering commodities such as sheet metal machined items plastic rubber and assemblies with primary experience in plastic and sheet metal
- Perform cost calculations for reference target cost and support negotiations for new components
- Strong understanding of cost drivers and ability to perform independent cost calculations with minimal support
- Knowledge of machines machine hourly rate MHR overheads and profit calculations
- Hands on experience in cost mapping for engineering parts and assemblies including defining manufacturing process machine selection and cycle time calculations
- Perform supplier quote analysis and provide detailed reports or negotiation inputs to commodity teams
- Ability to read engineering drawings with good knowledge of GD and T
- Experience with sourcing software SAP and ERP systems
- Experience with should costing tools such as aPriori Costimator and TcPCM
