SmartHire is looking for a Service Writer to join a team in Tacoma WA. This is full time, direct hire and fully onsite. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience selling Transmissions along with experience utilizing All Data. In addition strong customer service and communication skills needed.

Location: Tacoma WA

Salary: $25 - $30 an hour DOE weekly group commission of up to $600 depending on sales benefits

Schedule: M-F 8am – 5pm

Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Service Writer to join our team and help deliver top-tier service to our customers. If you know your way around transmissions, can confidently discuss repairs, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

·       Greet customers and serve as their main point of contact throughout the repair process.

·       Create and manage accurate repair orders.

·       Explain recommended services, repairs, and pricing in a clear, professional manner.

·       Prepare estimates, obtain approvals, and keep customers updated on repair status.

·       Coordinate with technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and on schedule.

·       Build strong customer relationships through communication, follow-up, and exceptional service.

What we’re looking for

·       Minimum 1 year of experience with TRANSMISSIONS as an Automotive Service Writer, Service Advisor, or similar role

·       Strong understanding of transmission repair and industry terminology.

·       Proven ability to recommend services, upsell when appropriate, and close sales.

·       Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

·       Customer-focused mindset with a professional attitude.

·       Experience with All Data required; Mitchell 1 experience is a plus.

·       Experience with MS Office
