Salary: starting at $73,000/yr depending on experience annual discretionary bonus
Location: Hybrid once fully trained - Monday & Friday work from home; Tuesday - Thursday in-office at our beautiful corporate office in Ladera Ranch, CA
Accountant Job Summary - HYBRID
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, our Accountants are responsible for the monthly property financial statement close process for approximately 20 self-storage properties, maintaining internal controls, treasury, and internal reporting. This is a hybrid position once fully trained: Tues thru Thurs in office; Mon & Fri work from home.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Produce journal entries, banking and account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements.
- Analyze budget and actual results to report variances.
- Support integration of new acquisitions as needed.
- Compile a monthly reporting package for each property.
- Other accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable work experience.
- Experience with GAAP financial statements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
- Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and oral & written communication skills.
- Be detailed oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change, working effectively in a demanding environment.
- Must love diversity and work well with all personality types.
- Takes initiative, looking for areas of improvement and possess a commitment to following through on changes.
- Works well independently with minimal supervision.
- Great Plains experience a plus.
