Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Teradata Database Administrator (DBA) with 10 years of experience in enterprise database administration, maintenance, performance optimization, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing Teradata environments, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, security, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of Teradata database environments supporting critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Teradata database administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and ongoing support.
- Install, configure, and maintain Teradata database environments and related components.
- Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and overall system performance.
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning to optimize queries, workloads, and database resources.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Support disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and implementation for Teradata environments.
- Manage database security, including user accounts, roles, permissions, access controls, and authentication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Provide production support and participate in incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Perform database maintenance activities, including space management, workload management, and system health checks.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, development, and data teams to resolve database issues and support business requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, deployments, and on-call support as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10 years of experience in database administration, with strong experience supporting Teradata environments.
- Hands-on experience with Teradata Database Administration.
- Strong experience with Teradata installation and configuration.
- Experience with database maintenance, monitoring, and administration in large enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of backup and recovery processes.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery and high-availability environments.
- Strong understanding of database performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience with Teradata security, user management, roles, and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience providing production database support in a 24x7 enterprise environment.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
- Experience with Teradata utilities and database management tools.
- Knowledge of SQL and database performance optimization.
- Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, incident management, and change management processes
