Role Description
This is a full-time role based in St George, Utah, for a Warehouse Manager at Smarter Furnishings. The Warehouse Manager will lead daily warehouse operations, ensure safety and compliance, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This role includes some weekend work and requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage inventory, coordinate logistics, and optimize workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Warehouse Operations: Oversee receiving, storing, staging, and shipping of products in alignment with project schedules.
- Truck Coordination: Align warehouse workflows with truck scheduling, ensuring freight is prepped, loaded, and dispatched on time.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, bin audits, and reconciliation of inbound/outbound product movements within our ERP system.
- Direct Supervision: Work independently and use sole discretion in managing warehouse team members, which ranges from 2-20 employees, depending on the time of year—assign tasks, train on procedures, and uphold performance standards.
- Customer Support (Onsite): Serve as the point of contact for on-site questions during pickups/deliveries and occasionally interface directly with clients or install leads.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Warehouse Organization: Continuously improve layout, cleanliness, and flow to maximize space and minimize delays.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure forklifts and other machinery are inspected, safe, and functioning.
- Receiving & Inspection: Verify incoming shipments match POs and meet quality standards; resolve discrepancies.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned
Job Requirements
- 3–5 years of warehouse operations or inventory management experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in inventory management systems and warehouse software.
- Forklift certified (or willingness to certify); comfortable managing equipment and dock operations.
- Excellent communication skills for team coordination and cross-functional updates.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and oversee furniture-related materials.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Professional, calm under pressure, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
- Will be available for working some weekends when needed.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
