BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Join our team as a Box Truck Driver based in the Brooklyn/Queens area. We looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, safe driver.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate box truck to transport freight across multiple routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand tools, ensuring cargo safety and security.
- Verify delivery details, inspect vehicles before and after trips, and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations; plan routes for efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team lead/dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues during transit.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver with knowledge of route driving and freight handling.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment such as pallet jacks, appliance dolly or roll-off mechanisms
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to follow GPS or route maps accurately.
- Minimum three years driving experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift 100 lbs. to waist height
- Must be able to maneuver objects up to 350lbs with moving equipment
- Push/Pull 75-100 lbs.
- Walk and stand for duration of shift
- Lift above head, bend, stoop
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Drivers License is required
Experience
