The Safety Coordinator supports our service team in ensuring a safe working environment for all customers and their employees. As a key member of our team, the Safety Coordinator assists in the coordination and completion of safety inspections, including the abatement of hazards identified in these inspections.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct daily safety meetings (employee training) at customer jobsites.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee/employer compliance with safety regulations.
- Enforce customer policies to establish a culture of safety.
- Issue employee disciplinary warnings (EDWs), when necessary.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, compliance, and business efficiency.
- Collaborate with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives and internal safety staff during formal plant audits and inspections; documents corrective actions taken.
- Complete OSHA Academy courses (and Safety Spanish courses if not bilingual in Spanish) and other trainings assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree and at least one year’s safety/construction experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other presentation software.
- Ability to effectively communicate and conduct training.
- Ability to learn and use software/systems to report, monitor, and correct safety problems.
- Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) standards.
- OSHA 30 certificate is required prior to start date
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
- Willing to travel (30 to 50 percent during the week).
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with at least three years' clean driving record.
