Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Securitization, Secondary Mortgage operations, and SQL. The ideal candidate will work closely with business, data, and technology teams to support mortgage-backed securities processes, loan data analysis, reporting, and workflow enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze end-to-end securitization and secondary mortgage processes, including loan pooling, pricing, delivery, compliance, and investor reporting.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications.
- Work with data teams to validate loan data used for MBS (Mortgage-Backed Securities) structuring and reporting.
- Perform detailed SQL-based data analysis, data validation, and reconciliation of mortgage loan datasets.
- Support monthly/quarterly securitization cycles, including data preparation, cash-flow analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, risk, IT) to improve systems and workflows.
- Troubleshoot data quality issues and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in system enhancements, testing (UAT), and implementation of new mortgage/securitization platforms.
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and documentation for stakeholders and regulatory needs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Securitization (RMBS, CMBS, Loan Pooling, Investor Reporting).
- Solid understanding of Secondary Mortgage Market operations (pricing, pooling, delivery, servicing).
- Advanced SQL skills for complex queries, data extraction, analysis, and validation.
- Knowledge of mortgage data models, loan tapes, and pooling guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae preferred).
- Experience working in Mortgage Banking / Capital Markets / Financial Services.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and requirement-gathering skills.
- Experience with reporting/BI tools is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with loan origination or servicing systems is beneficial.
