Accounting Intern
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our organization’s financial and agency operations. This role assists with day-to-day accounting tasks, commission processing, financial reporting, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and eager to learn financial and operational workflows in a fast-paced business environment. The Accounting Intern will work closely with the accounting team and leadership to ensure accurate financial records, timely commission processing, and smooth office operations.
Responsibilities
1.Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Download the statement. (bank, business card and commission statement)
- Check and follow up receivable commissions.
- Process invoices and payments to vendors and suppliers confirmed by the CEO.
- Bank reconciliation
- Manage company business cards including verifying proper usage and reviewing related invoices and receipts.
2.Commission & Incentive Payroll Management:
- Calculate and process agent and agency commission (P&C agent commission, H&M agent commission (referral & override, ACA, Medicare) payments accurately and on schedule.
- Create and distribute commission statements.
- Reconcile commission statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Calculate and process Employees Internal Incentive & reimbursement payments accurately and on schedule.
- Calculate and process part-time employee’s payments accurately and on schedule.
3.Financial Reporting:
- Prepare reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide detailed commission reports and summaries to the CEO.
4.QuickBooks Management:
- Use QuickBooks for daily financial transactions and reporting.
- Maintain accurate entries and regularly update the accounting system.
- Maintain and update financial records
5.Data Accuracy and Integrity:
- Regularly review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
- Update and maintain agent commission structures and other relevant data.
6.Agency Report:
- Update the P&C report every Friday.
7.HR & Agency Administration:
- Manage onboarding documentation for new employees (including basic personal information, tax-related forms, payroll setup, and company policy/security acknowledgments).
- Communicate and implement company policy updates in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee and track completion of mandatory employee training programs to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Admin Responsibilities
- Manage company accounts and subscriptions, including software used by each team, Microsoft Office, company email accounts, and mobile/internet services.
- Oversee and maintain company assets, such as PCs, copiers, furniture, and other office equipment.
