What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Fitness Coach position at SMART Golf & Fitness Instruction?
The Fitness Professional will report to the Director of Fitness and be responsible for coaching private, semi-private, and small group fitness sessions utilizing state-of-the-art fitness equipment and technology, growing a healthy clientele, and monitoring the financial performance of your session book. The Fitness Professional will be self-motivated and will continue to place an emphasis on facilitating relationships with current members and guests, as well as any future clients.
Experience Required
Including, but not limited to, the following:
- Minimum of 1 years-experience with fitness instruction preferred
- Experience in upscale fitness operation preferred
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication skills and computer skills
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- College degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar discipline preferred
- TPI, FGS, or similar certification preferred, but not required
Essential Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Embrace learning and become an expert on the company’s best practices
- Provide golf fitness sessions for all skill levels
- Maintain a high level of visibility with members and guests
- Ensure daily upkeep of all gym equipment and ensure the facility is always kept in a safe, clean, and professional condition
- Keep accurate daily records of all programs sold, sessions taught, and client status
- Assist in developing and coordinating a strong junior golf program
- Maintaining regular communication and interaction with the Director of Golf, Director of Fitness, Director of Instruction, fellow Fitness Coaches, Teaching Professionals, and clientele
Skills:
- He/she/they must be a compelling and self-assured fitness instructor with a proven ability to attract and develop students of all skill levels
- Excellent fitness and fitness teaching skills
- Proficient in K-Vest, Boditrak, and video analysis
- Possess an understanding of the biomechanics of the golf swing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong understanding of general computer and retail software systems
- Proven track record of maintaining a detailed client log
- Team player with a well-regarded reputation for professionalism
