Job Description
Job Summary: The Project Manager - Technology Infrastructure will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of technology infrastructure projects. This role involves understanding project scope, deliverables, and associated milestones, identifying critical systems and risks, and ensuring user requirements are met. The Project Manager will coordinate with various stakeholders, including tech product owners, vendors, and business teams, to ensure successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Understand project scope, deliverables, and associated milestones.
- Deliver user requirements as defined by the User Requirement Brief.
- Review and understand site floor plans.
- Engage tech product owners for preparation and planning of technology equipment and services.
- Maintain GP&T scope project budget parameters.
- Maintain project plan for technology products deployment and costs.
- Implement solution design goals and objectives in accordance with the project implementation plan.
Infrastructure Management:
- Identify and prepare IDF, MDF, and DEMARC rooms for power and HVAC requirements.
- Engage GSK WAN core connectivity product owner for circuit planning.
- Oversee Metro Link MAN circuit installation at DMARC.
- Manage low voltage wiring, copper and fiber runs, copper and fiber patching.
- Coordinate installation of network cabinets, patch panels, cabling, core, distribution & access switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless controllers.
- Conduct predictive surveys for wireless access points.
- Plan office and lab wired connections – port activations.
- Plan VPN access requirements, virtual machines requirements, Mac users requirements, and Linux systems with 10G port requirements.
End User Devices and Meeting Rooms:
- Order, schedule installation, and commission end user devices such as MFDs, monitors, telephony services, sound masking, lab mini PCs, App Space digital signage, and wayfinding kiosks and sensors.
- Coordinate meeting room consultation with the meeting room service line.
- Review floor plans with business and project teams for confirmation of meeting room spaces.
- Coordinate with meeting room services for bill of materials based on meeting room designs.
- Identify and schedule AV vendors for installation.
Support and Coordination:
- Identify locations for support teams, tech hub, and LCSM (Lab Computer Support Management).
- Prepare spaces for support tools and systems.
- Review and react to ad hoc requests.
- Coordinate vendor services as they relate to the transformation program.
- Coordinate with all work streams and the business to plan moves in accordance with the master move plan.
- Review statement of work for vendor deliverables.
- Manage installation and equipment deliverables.
- Host project status update meetings with the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in technology infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including IDF, MDF, DEMARC rooms, WAN core connectivity, and low voltage wiring.
- Experience with end user devices and meeting room installations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work streams.
