Overview
Smart Electric Company, Inc., a reputable electrical contractor in Connelly Springs, NC, is seeking a Documentation Specialist to manage and coordinate the preparation, submission, and tracking of electrical submittals for construction projects. This role requires excellent organizational skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal project teams. While prior electrical knowledge is helpful, it is not required - we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Review and Interpret Project Documents
Examine project drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine material requirements and compliance standards. - Material TakeoffsProcurement Support
Create detailed material/takeoff lists; obtain quotes from suppliers for project-related equipment and materials. - Submittal Preparation
Request and collect equipment submittals from suppliers; compile miscellaneous submittal packages for conduit, wire, fittings, and related items. - Request for Information (RFI) Coordination
Draft, submit, and track RFIs to clarify project details with architects, engineers, and clients. - O&M Manual Compilation
Gather and assemble operation and maintenance manuals in compliance with project requirements. - Project SetupDocumentation
Establish new projects in project management software; maintain organized and accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle. - Coordination with Procurement
Assist the procurement team in issuing purchase orders for major equipment; track deliveries and lead times. - SchedulingStart-Up Support
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to arrange equipment testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF software.
- Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical equipment and materials is beneficial but not required.

- Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (typical early release at 2:00 PM on Fridays).
Compensation and Benefits
