Engineering Team Lead, Product Development
Smart Data Solutions, a leading provider of data management, claim routing and workflow solutions to health plans and TPAs, is looking for an Engineering Team Lead, Product Development to join our team!
What you’ll be doing?
Management and Leadership
- Delegate and assign projects and tasks to development team members
- Set aggressive yet achievable timeframes for all assigned projects and tasks
- Track all assigned projects and tasks to ensure they are completed within specified timeframes
- Report at risk project and tasks and take appropriate intervention action to put them back on track
- Train and mentor team members on the following:
- Full stack development technologies and techniques
- SDS infrastructure and development environment
- SDS work patterns and expectations
- Administer follow-up action for underperforming team members including warnings and performance improvement plans
Production
- Monitor and measure production workflows related to product development releases
- Alert team and direct reporting managers of any unexpected variances
- Plan and execute workflow corrections for product defects
Other
Perform other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for?
Required skills:
- 3 years’ experience with full stack development, including proficiency in the following:
- Front-end technologies:
- JavaScript
- CSS and Bootstrap
- HTML 5
- Frameworks:
- Spring
- AngularJS
- jQuery
- Backend Technologies:
- Java
- Preprocessing Templates (e.g. JSP or Velocity)
- Relational SQL Database (MySQL preferred)
- Unix-like operating systems
- Windows operating systems
- Web application security
- Best practices
- OWASP Top 10
- Git version control
- 4-year degree in computer science or equivalent degree
- Highly organized and disciplined
- Business analysis
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows
- Ability to understand process workflows, analyze, and identify improvements
- Strong writing skills, particularly for process documentation and communication
- Ability to comprehend and follow written policies, procedures, and directions
- Disciplined in prompt communication responsiveness
- Communication and reporting style that emphasizes simplicity and elimination of noise in favor of substantive and actionable data
- Action orientation and ability to consistently complete assigned tasks on time
