Smart Communications is a national leader in Correctional Law Enforcement technology and communication services and is seeking Regional Territory Sales Reps to join our growing sales team.
The selected individuals will be responsible for new business/customer acquisition as well as current customer retention and relationship management within assigned region. (Heavy Travel Required)
The target market consists of County jail facilities, sheriff's offices, State Department of Corrections Government agencies. Currently seeking candidates to support a territory that includes Colorado and surrounding states.
This position includes a base salary $125,000 and a very significant commission component that provides more than double the base pay to successful sales reps.
Position Overview
As a Regional Sales Rep you will target new business opportunities for assigned facilities and agencies within your designated territory (Multi state)
· Must be accustomed to high-activity, heavy travel, heavy door-pulling sales, metrics-based sales environment with extensive and consistent utilization of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
· Experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques and long-term sales cycles
· Establish/cultivate deep relationships with decision-makers and influencers at Gov agencies
Target your prospects by their contract expiration dates and plan your activity around contract cycles becoming available, prepare RFP responses (request for proposals) and have experience in working the government procurement cycle and process.
· Attend relevant conferences and appropriately represent the Smart Communications brand
Must be good with Technology. Must be able to use and present the technology systems being offered and present compelling PowerPoint presentations to large groups (5-20 People)
· Drive measurable and increased pipeline activity into prospect and active account deck
· Drive solution selling methodology, leveraging demonstrations and other interactions with key influencers and decision makers
· Experience with RFP response and submission processes ideally with, but not limited to, those associated with Federal, State, County and Municipal entities
· Accustomed to functioning efficiently with organizational and sales leadership as well as engineering, operations and field services teams
· Extensive travel within assigned territory
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
· A minimum of four (4) years of business development/sales experience, preferably in technical sales roles offering services such as unified communications solutions.
· Demonstrated experience identifying, maximizing & sustaining relationships with key decision makers
· Demonstrated experience creating opportunities within enterprise/strategic accounts with lengthy sales cycles
· Technical background and/or demonstrated ability to acquire technical knowledge to effectively articulate features and benefits of offered services for non-technical customers
· Demonstrated experience selling software, technology or communications solutions into Law Enforcement, Corrections environments highly desired
· Extensive experience with extended and complex sales cycles
· Demonstrated ability to establish new relationships and drive revenue within an established account deck.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills; polished presentation skills.
· Ability to rapidly absorb products and services suite to successfully articulate a solutions-based value proposition.
· Experience selling relationship-based services in industries with a long sales cycle and frequent interaction with government entities preferred.
· Lead entire sales cycle from initial opportunity creation to finalizing opportunity outcome; this includes prospecting campaigns, driving the discovery process at meetings with both prospects and clients, forecasting, and ultimately closing the deal.
· Participate in internal team meetings to collaborate with supporting ecosystem on opportunities, resolve customer issues, share best practices, and work with cross functional teams
