Business Development Associate

Smart City is growing in Phoenix, and we’re looking for a Business Development Associate to help build relationships with local multifamily property teams.

This role is all about making connections. You’ll be out in the market meeting with apartment communities, connecting with property managers and regional teams, introducing them to Smart City, and establishing partnerships that help expand our footprint in the city.

What You’ll Do

• Own outreach to apartment communities and property management companies across the market

• Build relationships through calls, emails, meetings, and in-person property visits

• Find the right decision-makers and pitch the value of partnering with Smart City

• Help move new partnerships from first conversation through contract and onboarding

• Become a go-to Smart City presence in the local multifamily community

• Keep your pipeline organized and look for creative ways to open new doors

• You’re a natural relationship-builder who enjoys connection with others. You’re confident enough to walk into a property, introduce yourself, and start a conversation; and resilient enough that hearing “no” doesn’t throw you off your game.
• You’re self-directed, organized, and excited by the idea of helping build something from scratch.
• You can juggle a lot of conversations and follow-ups without letting things fall through the cracks, and you know how to adjust your approach depending on who’s across the table.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or a similar customer-facing role

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular property visits

• Comfortable prospecting by phone, email, and in person

• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through

• CRM experience is a plus

• Multifamily, property management, or real estate experience is a plus!

Compensation & Perks

• $61,700 base salary with eligibility for quarterly incentives with a maximum of $81,700.
