Position Overview And Impact

The Commercial Strategy and Finance Analyst supports the greater Analytics Team by transforming sales and financial data into actionable insights that drive performance, profitability, and growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong analytical curiosity, and is eager to learn how financial and operational decisions drive business success.

A key focus is supporting field sales leaders by delivering clear reporting and dashboards that illuminate performance metrics, commissions, and profit drivers. By providing accessible, data-backed insights, the Analyst helps enable sales leaders to optimize their results and earnings potential while contributing to overall company and client growth.

The Basics

• Location: HQ office in Newport Beach, CA
• Hybrid: 3 days on site
• Compensation: $80,000-$110,000/year, commensurate with experience
• Travel: Up to 10%
• Reports To: Manager of Analytics
  
  

Primary Functions

• Analyze sales and financial performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Partner with field and sales reps to clarify KPIs, commissions, and profitability metrics
• Prepare and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance summaries for both internal and field audiences
• Support financial modeling, forecasting, and incentive structure analysis
• Gather, validate, and organize data from multiple sources to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency
• Maintain Tableau and Excel dashboards that track key business and field metrics
• Contribute to ad hoc analyses, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives across Analytics and Finance
• Assist in preparing insights and materials for leadership and field presentations
  
  

Qualifications And Expertise

• 1–2 years of experience in data analysis, business analytics, FP&A, or a related field (internships or relevant coursework accepted)
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling basics) and familiarity with Tableau or Power BI
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
• Basic understanding of financial concepts such as revenue, margin, and commissions
• Clear communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for diverse audiences
• Interest in supporting and engaging with independent sales reps or distributed business owners
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
