Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Ab Initio ETL Developer with strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimising scalable data integration and processing solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Ab Initio, strong SQL/database development skills, and a proven track record of building high-performance ETL pipelines in enterprise data environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable ETL workflows using Ab Initio, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Build, enhance, and maintain Ab Initio graphs utilizing components such as Reformat, Join, Partition, Sort, Rollup, Lookup, and other core transformations.
- Leverage GDE (Graphical Development Environment) for efficient ETL development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Develop complex data transformation logic while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems.
- Integrate ETL solutions with relational databases using advanced SQL programming techniques.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve data-related problems.
- Collaborate with data architects, DBAs, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver data integration solutions.
- Support deployment, monitoring, performance tuning, and maintenance of data pipelines across multiple environments.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and data quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL Development.
- Expertise in:
- Ab Initio Graph Development
- Ab Initio components and parallel processing concepts
- GDE (Graphical Development Environment)
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, ETL architecture, and best practices.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and optimizing ETL workflows.
- Experience integrating ETL solutions with enterprise databases and large-scale data processing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in distributed, high-volume, and large-scale data environments.
- Exposure to Unix/Linux shell scripting and enterprise scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience supporting data migration, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
