General Manager

The Squad General Manager (SGM) is responsible for leading the overall operations and performance of the Can. The SGM builds and develops a high-performing team while ensuring every guest receives an exceptional Smalls Sliders experience.

This role owns the day-to-day business, including people development, staffing, sales growth, profitability, food quality, safety, cleanliness, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all day-to-day operations of the Can
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain a strong team
• Coach and develop managers, Squad Team Leaders, and Squad Members
• Build a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest service
• Ensure proper staffing and scheduling based on business needs and sales forecasts
• Manage labor performance and productivity
• Monitor food cost, inventory, waste, and controllable expenses
• Drive sales and identify opportunities to grow the business
• Ensure excellent food quality, speed of service, accuracy, and hospitality
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and restaurant appearance
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, company policies, and applicable regulations
• Complete inventory, ordering, scheduling, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities accurately and on time
• Review restaurant performance and take action to improve results
• Handle guest concerns professionally and use feedback to improve the operation
• Partner with company leadership to execute operational and business initiatives
• Lead by example and maintain a consistent presence during key business periods

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous restaurant management experience; General Manager experience preferred
• Strong leadership and people-development skills
• Ability to build, motivate, and hold a team accountable
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labor, food cost, and profitability
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Guest-focused mindset
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of restaurant operations
