Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods including pastries, cakes, and cookies following established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, slicers, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
- Package baked items carefully to ensure freshness and presentation for retail display or catering orders
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision using piping bags, fondant, and other decorating tools to meet customer specifications
- Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety protocols, sanitizing surfaces, and properly storing ingredients
- Assist in food production tasks such as measuring ingredients, portioning dough or batter, and assembling products for high-volume output
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about baked goods, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
Requirements
- Prior experience in baking, pastry preparation, or food production within a bakery, restaurant, or catering environment is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and pastry tools
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in baked goods quality
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory levels
- Excellent attention to detail in cake decorating, pastry presentation, and packaging processes
- High-volume production experience is a plus for managing busy periods efficiently
- Customer service experience within the food industry enhances the ability to engage positively with customers
