Smallcakes Missouri City Texas is looking for one baker to join our team. We are located on 6261 Hwy 6 Missouri city Texas 77459. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and reliable.
We bake and decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies and other treats.
To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to decorate cakes using creative techniques. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.
Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $12.00 - $14.00/hour.
Responsibilities
- Weigh and measure ingredients
- Set oven temperatures and monitor or modify as needed
- Bake early in the morning
- Ice, glaze, and decorate baked goods
- Prepare and maintain inventory
- Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
- Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers
- Prepare custom-made pastries based on customers’ preferences (e.g. birthday cakes)
- Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free, keto or vegan desserts)
- Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
Skills
- Attention to detail in all aspects of baking
- Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- Food handle practices knowledge
- Experience with cake decoration techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts during weekends
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
