Montessori Assistant Teacher and/or Substitute Teacher
We are seeking an Assistant Teachers to join our team at a private, non-profit school. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
The candidate must have great respect and patience for the young child and a strong interest in Montessori education. Montessori formal training is ideal, but willingness to do Montessori training will also be considered.
Responsibilities
· Carefully observe and keep daily records on each student’s individual progression and development· Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and school events· Participate in personal evaluations.
· Work with lead teacher to plan, prepare, and maintain classroom
- Manage classroom behavior effectively
- Provide support and guidance to students
- Follow the school's curriculum and assist in curriculum development
- Utilize classroom management techniques to create a productive learning environment
Qualifications
· College degree preferred, but not required
· Montessori Certification needed – willing to provide training for right candidate
· 6 units of Early Childhood Education at a minimum
· Ability to lead and participate in activities that may include squatting, standing, running, throwing, and kicking
· Ability to be on your feet for up to 5 hours at one time.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
