Duties
- Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Follow a provided menu to incorporate balanced, appealing options for children’s dietary needs
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedure
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, mixing, and cooking
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate with staff to ensure mealtimes are organized smoothly and children’s dietary restrictions are respected
- Maintain and update all necessary paperwork
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Experience in food service, catering, or restaurant environments demonstrating strong food handling skills
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety practices
- Culinary experience with an emphasis on cooking techniques suitable for children’s diets
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food industry standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, staff, and parents
