About This Role
Create a caring and safe learning environment for children.
Communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.
Understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
Develop a positive relationship with the children and their parents through observing and documenting children's interests and progress using the Parent Engagement App.
Teachers are responsible for implanting daily developmentally appropriate activities in all interest areas using Experience Curriculum.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practice and early learning standards that actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, and communicate the availability of classroom materials.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and Parent Engagement app.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center
- Follow all center policies and state regulations
- Maintain accurate records and forms
- Work towards an Early Childhood Education Certificate within 5 years (Scholarships are available)
Requirements
High energy
Ability to work well with others
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
A strong understanding of child development
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certification
Must clear full background check
Must pass health screening (TB)
Provide Washington State Food Handlers certification
Provide proof of MMR vaccine
Provide High School diploma or GED
Must be 21yrs or older and willing to drive elementary school transportation bus.
