We are seeking a warm, experienced, and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our three-year-old team for the upcoming school year. This position is ideal for an educator who values play-based learning, enjoys collaboration, and is passionate about supporting the whole child.
Position Overview
The Lead Preschool Teacher creates a welcoming, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages three to four. This educator will partner closely with an assistant teacher, communicate regularly with families, and cultivate a classroom community where children develop socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and academically.
Responsibilities
• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using Frog Street curriculum resources
• Foster a classroom culture that promotes belonging, independence, curiosity, and joyful learning
• Support children's social-emotional development through responsive relationships and positive guidance strategies
• Create inviting classroom environments that encourage exploration, creativity, and meaningful play
• Observe, assess, and communicate children's growth with families
• Collaborate with colleagues, teaching partners, and families to build a strong classroom community
• Supervise and support assistant teachers while maintaining a positive and respectful working relationship
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
• Follow all licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and school policies
Qualifications
• Associate's degree or higher (Early Childhood Education preferred)
• CDA or higher credential in Early Childhood Education, or willingness to complete within 12 months
• Minimum one year of preschool teaching experience, preferably in a lead teacher role
• Completion of Florida's 45-hour child care training (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Ability to actively engage with young children throughout the day and lift up to 50 pounds
• Eligible through the Florida DCF Fingerprinting Clearinghouse Registry
• Comfortable working within a faith-based preschool community
