Warehouseman

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for general duties within the warehouse including receiving, organizing/storing, pulling materials for both electric and fiber work orders and assisting with inventory management.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Load, unload, inspect, label, receive materials into the accounting inventory system and safely transfers materials to the designated storage area. 
2. Read work orders to determine what materials are needed for construction projects, pull material and post into the accounting system.
3. Physically reconcile materials when work orders are complete for inventory management. 
4. Handle the shipping, receiving and disbursing of all rubber goods.
5. Assist with physical inventory cycle counting for inventory management.
6. Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse and outside material yard. 
7. Create purchase orders for rubber goods and small tools inventory as needed. 
8. Deliver materials to job sites as needed.
9. Backup Storekeeper/Buyer duties as needed.
10. Assists with building maintenance and snow removal as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 2 years’ experience with handling materials and inventory management.
3. Must be certified on forklift operations.
4. Ability to operate computers and communication equipment.
5. Must adhere to the Cooperative’s safety manual, policies, procedures, service rules and regulations.
6. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with coworkers and contractors.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Activities are performed inside and outside in all types of weather.
2. Some irregular work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
3. Travel may be required.
4. Must be able to perform activities listed in the position description.
5. Activities performed are driving, sitting and walking.
