What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Slow Hand Food & Drink?
Slow Hand in West Chester, PA is looking for one line cook to join our 35 person strong team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged. Availability and experience with brunch service would be ideal.
Responsibilities
- Stock and set up your station
- Complete all tasks on daily prep list, help others to do the same
- Cook orders in a timely manner, plate as instructed by Chef
- Communicate with others working the line
- Ex. all food for each course should be ready at the exact same time
- Communicate orders, prep, counts to the Chef/Sous Chef
- Break down stations/kitchen at end of shift
- Assisting other kitchen employees in the completion of the shift.
- Prepare for next shift
- Fill out preplists and notify the Chef/Sous Chef on any items that need to be ordered to complete prep for the following day/days
- Ensure food safety standards and regulations are upheld at all times
- If no dishwasher is present, keep up with dishes during prep time. Clean as you go, wash what you use
Qualifications
- Cooking experience or Back of the House experience preferred
- Able to meet all scheduling commitments
- Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
- Strong attention to detail
