Job Summary
Slow Burn Coffee Roasters is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Coffee Shop Team Member to join our café team. The ideal candidate will prepare premium coffee and espresso beverages, provide exceptional customer service, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming coffee shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, tea, and specialty drinks according to company standards
- Take customer orders accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Process cash, credit card, debit card, and mobile payment transactions
- Serve pastries, sandwiches, and other café menu items
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, dining area, and beverage preparation stations
- Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, food items, cups, lids, and café supplies
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times
- Assist with opening, closing, inventory, and daily cleaning responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide an exceptional customer experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, retail, or customer service role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of espresso machines and specialty coffee preparation is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced café environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
