Solo Caliber Singer to sing with summer camp band at nightly campfires.
Overnight children's summer camp in Maine seeking a summer camp counselor who has the kind of voice that people have who sing solos in musicals. Our children's camp does a lot of singing, and we try to always have a high caliber vocalist or two in the camp band. Singing counselor would also participate in supervision of a camper cabin, and activities such as arts & crafts, gaga ball, swimming, drama, kayaking, volleyball, etc. No experience necessary in anything except singing in musicals. Counselors have some time most days to enjoy the beautiful summer camp setting on Panther Pond. Counselors can participate in activities such as swimming, sailing, wind-surfing, kayaking, and hiking one period per day, and on one day off per week. Free sailing and wind-surfing lessons available a few times each week.

COMPENSATION: Round trip travel support included if traveling more than 400 miles to Maine. Room & board included. Singing counselor would live in a cabin with campers and other cabin counselors. One day off per week. Salary range depending on experience $500 to $700 per week plus room & board plus travel.
DATES: Flexible starting date in the June 5 to 20 range. Flexible ending date between August 8 and 25.

- Campfire singing benefits from some staff members who are very strong and beautiful singers. The most effective campfire singers are often people who have had lead roles in musicals such as THE WIZARD OF OZ, MARY POPPINS, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, GREASE, or MAMA MIA. Can you describe any roles you have had in musicals?
- In addition to singing female vocals with the band, this position also includes supervising campers in activities such as volleyball, swimming or arts & crafts. Are you either experienced or willing to supervise activities such as theater, dancing, dodgeball games, knitting, or hikes on camp trails?
- Our camp does not have available staff housing other than for staff members to bunk in camper cabins, and to help supervise 9-15 year old campers in their cabins. Staff members are assigned to supervise campers at rest hour, cabin clean-up, and at night time when campers are getting themselves ready for bed. Is this housing OK for you?
- Camp begins on June 20. Would you be able to begin work on June 20 or earlier?
