State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Job Summary

The Slovene Home is hiring STNAs to join our team of dedicated and caring professionals. You will work under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to ensure our residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care while maintaining dignity and promoting independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding

• Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)

• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and proper positioning

• Provide skin care and assist with prevention of pressure injuries

• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to nursing staff

• Assist with range-of-motion exercises as directed

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment

• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers

• Support residents’ emotional and social needs with compassion and respect

• Follow infection control policies and safety procedures

• Accurately document care provided according to facility policy

• Comply with HIPAA and resident rights regulations

Qualifications

• Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in good standing in the state of Ohio

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Basic knowledge of nursing care, resident rights, and infection control

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

• CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance or proper equipment
