About the Role
A Lead Guide is responsible for leading a studio of 20-25 students, designing and facilitating learning experiences, and building a strong, values-driven culture. This role blends teaching, coaching, and leadership. You will guide students academically and
personally and be supported by an Assistant or Apprentice Guide.
We are looking for an experienced Montessori / elementary teacher to be the Lead Guide in our Spark studio that serves early learners (Pre-K through 1st grade). This position would start in August 2026 to cover a 3 month maternity leave. This role is ideal for experienced educators looking for a long-term substitute role and to build connections with a unique community with potential for future substitute work across our 3 campuses.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a studio of students through daily learning experiences
- Track student progress using academic data and deliver 1:1 coaching / instruction
- Design and prepare learning experiences (projects, writing, discussions, exhibitions, events)
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and key events
- Support and mentor Assistant and Apprentice Guides
- Build a strong studio culture focused on ownership, respect, and accountability

Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (Child development, elementary education, etc.)
- 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably with early elementary children and in a Montessori-setting
- Strong reliability, organization, and attention to detail
- Lead classroom experience is significantly more valuable than assistant roles

Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $200-250/day
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
