About the Role:
The Estimator is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the time, budget, materials, and labor required for commercial and government security project’s locations nationwide and around the world. This position works with various stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure project-costs and prices sustain the Sloan business. The Construction Estimator is a self-starter, works independently, effectively communicates verbally and in writing, and has impeccable organization skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Domains
- Document management.
- Communication with clients
- Cost estimation
- Proposal development
- Relationship building with GCs, owners, subcontractors, and material vendors.
General Tasks, Duties, and Assignments
- Receives project documents (drawings and specifications)
- Reviews and evaluates project documents.
- Contributes to “Go” or “No-Go” discussions.
- Visits jobs sites
- Performs quantity take-off estimation for security solutions barriers, fencing, bollards, gates, etc.
- Contacts vendors/subcontractors for pricing
- Communicates with other specialties (internal and external) for means, methods, and sequence estimates.
- Build project estimates for direct and indirect costs.
- Develops proposal documents.
