Position Summary
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the daily execution of Sloan’s dispatch, warehouse, and field
support functions. This is a hands-on role at the center of our day-to-day operations — ensuring jobs are
staffed and launched on time, the warehouse is organized and ready, and our fleet is clean and operational.
This role requires significant weekend work.
This role reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with our Lead Salesperson to support
smooth job handoffs. The right candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their
responsibilities — in the warehouse, in the field, and at the desk.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Dispatch & Job Coordination
• Confirm daily job assignments, ensuring all moves are staffed, scheduled, and resourced on time
• Monitor active jobs throughout the day and communicate with crews to maintain operational flow
• Serve as field support and backup mover when needed
• Deliver materials and assist with jobs as required
Crew Coordination & Scheduling
• Build and maintain the weekly crew schedule based on job demands and crew availability
• Manage crew check-ins each morning and address late arrivals or coverage gaps
• Ensure crews are fully briefed and equipped before leaving the warehouse each day
Warehouse Operations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times
• Pull and stage materials for all scheduled jobs; account for materials against estimator documentation
• Operate forklift safely to manage vaulted and palletized storage
• Receive and properly store incoming materials and equipment
Fleet Readiness
• Ensure all truck cabs and cargo boxes are clean and ready for service each morning
• Flag maintenance needs and coordinate repairs to keep the fleet operational
Administrative Support
• Enter prior day’s completed paperwork into SmartMoving each morning
• Maintain accurate daily time logs in Google Sheets for payroll verification
• Use Motive/ELD systems to track driver hours in support of FMCSA/DOT compliance
Customer Communication
• Communicate professionally with customers during active jobs as needed
• Escalate unresolved customer questions or concerns to the General Manager promptly
What Success Looks Like
• Jobs launch on time every day — crews are prepared, materials are staged, and trucks are ready
• The warehouse is consistently organized and materials are accurately tracked job to job
• The fleet is clean and road-ready with no avoidable surprises on dispatch mornings
• SmartMoving data entry and time logs are current and accurate, supporting clean payroll cycles
• The General Manager can rely on daily operations running smoothly without direct oversight of every detail
Qualifications
• 1–2 years of experience in moving and storage, warehousing, dispatch, or a related field
• Organized and dependable with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Clear communicator — comfortable with crews, customers, and management
• Ability to operate a forklift; certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience with SmartMoving software preferred but not required
• Comfortable in both warehouse/field environments and basic office tasks
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Availability and willingness to work most weekends
Compensation: $20 – $22/hour based on experience, with clear opportunity for advancement as the role
